27 years old. Born in Singapore. Of Bangladeshi origin. Lived and worked in London, Cairo and Dhaka. Former TV and print journalist slash public relations something.
Born and brought up in Singapore, my favourite class in school was Food & Nutrition/ Home Economics. But my love and passion for food truly began when I moved to London at the age of 16. 8 years of living abroad, from eating at Gordon Ramsey’s in London, to the tapas bars in Spain, to 2 years of gorging on beautiful Egyptian fettah while working as a journalist in Cairo, has cemented the motto, ‘Live to eat’, in me. My passion for food is exercised in various ways, through this supper club, through cooking in my own spare time, poring over cookbooks, researching online recipes to create my own, buying awesome new kitchen gadgets, traveling and eating and trying out new restaurants all over the world. I am also currently putting together the Khana Commune Cookbook.
There is no end game for me in this. I don’t wish to one day open my own restaurant, nor start a catering business. I simply love this right now, eating, cooking, and sharing my love for food with the world.
When I’m not obsessing over food, I enjoy a bit of yoga and amateur theatre.
you are beautiful !
